Annual Performance Agreement
Annual Performance Agreement (APA) is essentially a memorandum of understanding signed between the Cabinet Secretary as the representative of the Hon'ble Prime Minister of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh and the Secretary of the concerned Ministry/Department as the representative of the Hon'ble Minister-in-Charge of the concerned Ministry. Annual Performance Contracts have been introduced under the Government Performance Management System to enhance transparency and accountability in government activities, ensure proper utilization of resources and develop institutional capacity. This agreement contains the strategic objectives of the respective ministries/departments, the activities undertaken to achieve these strategic objectives and the performance indicators and targets for measuring the results of these activities. After the completion of the respective financial year, the actual achievement of the respective Ministry/Department is evaluated against the targets set in the contract for that year.
